Side-projects + the short-lived & the miscellaneous
because every tonsil needs a home.
there were several projects that happened on the sidelines…unexepected and one-shot things. collaborations. there’s more that belongs here than i have up right now, but i’ll get to it eventually. there were also quite a few things i recorded for other people back in the day, mostly as favours for friends, and generally it felt less like work and more like just relaxing and having a good time while the people who were playing the instruments did the work for me. i always found it odd that i seemed to get a more professional sound when recording someone else’s music…the drums in particular just always came through better, and yet i wasn’t really putting any more effort into “producing” than i normally did. maybe it was because my brain was free to concentrate on the engineering end of things specifically. today i would probably have a tricky time recording anyone else’s music, because my methods have changed completely, but once upon a time it was easy as pie. strawberry rhubarb pie.
